About the Chamber
MISSION STATEMENT
The Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce, representing its membership, advocates economic vitality, high quality of life and preservation of the free enterprise system through leadership, vision and communication.
Since 1910, the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce has helped businesses grow and prosper. Today, it is one of the largest and most aggressive business organizations in the state of Montana. The Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce, representing its membership, advocates economic vitality, high quality of life and preservation of the free enterprise system through leadership, vision and communication.
On top of our pledge to represent the business community of Bozeman and the surrounding area in all aspects of business, we also represent the area as a gateway to tourism so that we can help everyone enjoy the good nature of our environment, community, events and people that live, work and play in Bozeman. After 100 years of service to the Bozeman Community, we know what we’re talking about.

Guy Sperry
Guy Sperry, also known throughout Bozeman and beyond as “Mr. Bozeman,” served for 20 years as the Chamber Executive. He encouraged the community to join in efforts to enhance opportunities for all Bozeman residents and developed the motto “Build a Better Bozeman.” to compliment these efforts. His oft-repeated admonition was that “those of us who enjoy the benefits should not just pick up the apples, but should help to shake the trees!” which referenced the importance of active participation in the community.
The Guy Sperry Award
Each year, the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce selects an individual to receive the prestigious Guy Sperry Award. The award recognizes a community member who has contributed significantly to the Bozeman community and to the free enterprise system. 2011 will mark the 30th anniversary of the award.
This is the Chamber's highest recognition of service to the community and excellence in business. The selection is based on community and business dedication and service, as exemplified by Guy Sperry's 20 years of service as the executive vice president of the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce. The award presentation is made each January at the Chamber’s annual meeting.
